Hydrogen filling stations

Infrastructure for green mobility

Our hydrogen filling stations range from a capacity of 500 kg to 10,000 kg per day at 350 and 700 bar, covering the requirements of automobiles as well as light-load and heavy-load applications such as buses and trucks. We offer both stationary and mobile solutions.

Argo-Anleg offers filling station solutions suitable for all types of application parameters, including on-site production of hydrogen (wind or solar farms) or the supply of hydrogen from remote or central hydrogen production by means of trailers or cartridges at 350 or 500 bar. Our filling stations comply with the SAE J2601 standard, are TÜV approved and ensure above-average filling speeds of up to 180 grams/second with high safety standards thanks to our self-developed communication interface and refuelling procedure. In addition to developing and manufacturing equipment, we can also offer turnkey solutions.

Mobile electric quick charging station

Argo-Anleg has developed a quasi-stationary fast charging station for cars, e-scooters, e-scooters and e-bikes, which is based on a mobile trailer and can thus be set up at any location, such as pedestrian zones, exhibition centres and festival grounds.

Hydrogen can be stored in 250 bar or 500 bar pressure tanks with a storage capacity of 50 kg, 125 kg or 500 kg.

How it works

The mobile swap container (trailer with high-pressure storage tanks) is used to provide the necessary hydrogen. An internal generator (fuel cell system) generates electrical energy from the stored hydrogen to supply the internal control system as well as to supply external consumers. Here, the filling station can optionally be equipped with a PV system (roof) to generate additional charging current. Thanks to the exchangeable container, the H2 cartridges (high-pressure storage) can be changed easily and in a time-saving manner. The great advantage of our filling station solution is that no infrastructure is required on site. The number of charging stations as well as the charging capacity is scalable.

Technical features

Stationary electric quick charging station

  • Power supply: 80 KW fuel cell
  • E-charging capacity: 100 kW CCS
  • alternatively, other charging functions can also be implemented
  • H2 capacity: 800/2000/8000 kWh

Hydrogen filling stations

Stationary hydrogen filling stations

Argo-Anleg offers stationary hydrogen filling stations from 500 kg to 10,000 kg per day at pressures from 350 bar for commercial vehicles up to 700 bar for passenger cars. Argo-Anleg GmbH has realised a stationary hydrogen filling station for Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH in Meckenheim. Fuel cell buses are refuelled at 350 bar at the depot. The filling station has been in operation since 2020.

Construction of a 500 bar hydrogen filling station

This illustration shows the construction of a 1,000 KG hydrogen filling station of size M. Energy-efficient overflow of gaseous hydrogen from innovative storage tanks at a pressure of 500 bar enables the provision of over one tonne of hydrogen. The filling station shown here is supplied by trailers. Two trailer unloading areas are provided for the delivery of the gaseous hydrogen. Furthermore, two compressor units are available for compressing the hydrogen. The compressed hydrogen is stored in two high-pressure storage tanks, each with 81 pressure vessels made of lightweight, high-strength carbon fibre. Two dispensers with pre-cooling of the hydrogen down to -20°C for refuelling, which also allows innovative type IV tanks to be filled. A redundant design of the installed components ensures that the filling station continues to function in the event of a failure of individual components. This makes it possible, for example, to refuel 20 FC buses in two cycles of 10 vehicles each.
